Bloomest was created by N. Lacroix, a pediatric natural medicine practitioner, out of years of listening to new mothers. Everything else in postpartum is a tracker, a forum or a feed, and all three ask an exhausted person to do more work. This one has nothing to log, nothing to count and no streak to keep.
At its centre is Laurence, a companion a mother can talk to out loud — hold the orb, speak, and she answers in her own voice, in the mother’s language, with the screen kept dim. The product is explicit that she is neither a therapist nor a chatbot, and says so plainly rather than letting anyone assume otherwise.
We shipped it on iOS and Android with support for thirty languages. That shaped the build rather than being bolted onto it: the whole product is a voice speaking in the language you think in at three in the morning.
